A special course given by the Bruker company is going to be held during the evening of the sunday day 1st of September.
MALDI Biotyper - The next generation Microbial Identification System - Fast, automated, unbiased.
A two hour course covering: general introduction (MALDI TOF MS and microbiology), Sample Preparation --> approx. 30-40 min. 20 min about clinical studies and routine applications, 20 min about validation of alternative microbial identification methods.
The course is for free.

Introduction to the preprocessing and analysis of mass-spectrometry data with R

A special course given by the SING Research Group from the University of Vigo (http://sing.ei.uvigo.es) is going to be held during the morning of the sunday day 1st of September. 

This 3-hour course will cover the basic aspects of preprocessing and analysis of mass-spectrometry data with the R software and real datasets:
  • Reading different MS data formats.
  • MS data preprocessing (intensity transformation; baseline correction; smoothing; peak detection; peak alignment).
  • MS data analysis (classification; clustering)

The fees of the course are €25.
